Born and raised in Kelowna, John is an active outdoorsmen; and has a long history of supporting local charities and hosting unique and fun events, in Kelowna.

John runs Peacock Financial Group, providing comprehensive Financial, Tax and Succession planning advice to incorporated Physicians, Dentists and affluent business owners throughout BC and Alberta.

He describes, “The Integrated Youth Clinic has the potential to change the experience many families have endured through providing navigational guidance to at-risk youth in accessing the care they need – and all from one office!! This is a huge step forward and once again CMHA is leading the way here! Your generous support of this initiative is much needed and greatly appreciated.”

As The Interior Health Executive Medical Director for the Central Okanagan, and an Emergency Department Physician by trade, and a key member in several local, provincial and national public health and advocacy initiatives, Dr. Mike Ertel is “all in” when it comes to improving the delivery of health locally.

When Mike is not at the hospital, which isn’t very often, you will find him spending time at THE BOH with the family, or at another local venue. He is a connoisseur of local art and culture.

Favourite Meal: Simply seared pheasant with root vegetables and cranberry orange compote, sprinkled with sea salt from the Mediterranean Ocean.




I was born in Germany and moved to Oyama, BC, Canada in 1974.  After finishing my studies at UBC in Vancouver in 1988, I travelled around Europe, Asia and Central America for a couple years, I returned to Kelowna to live and establish a career.

My wife and I own The Bohemian Cafe & Catering Company which has been operating in Kelowna for the past 23 years.

We have raised our three children in Kelowna.  We would like to start giving back to the community which has supported our family.

Favourite Meal: Swordfish steaks with a lemon basil pasta.
